- The n sound in the [ng] sound is inbetween n and m.
- The g sound in the [ng] sound is only has a slight nasal g sound.
- The (a) sound is only an aspirated a (not using vocal cords).
- The double a 'aa' is simply a long open 'a' sound (like 'a' in the word father).
- Listen carefully to the recording and repeat along with it until the pronounciation is identical.

General Guidelines
- It is recommended that the mantra for Surya should be recited total of 7000 times over a period of time, in order to gain the desired results.
- The minimum number of daily recitation is traditionally one cycle or 108 times (one mala). For Sun it is recommended that you recite either 1 mala (108 times) or 5 malas (540 times) in each daily session.
- The initial session should start at sunrise on a Sunday,
preferably when the Moon, or Sun, are in Krittika, Uttra Phalguni or Uttarashadha.
- You can at any time increase the number of malas that you decide to chant, but the tradition warns not to decrease the number again after it has been increased once. So only increase when you know for sure that you will be able to proceed like that.
