The word Yagya (properly spelled yajna) means sacrificial act.
In essence this means that any self-less act can be classified as a Yagya.
Divine providence, if we attune to it, often directs us unknowingly to do
these kinds of acts to balance the influences of negative karma. So listen
to your inner voice and obey when it spurs you to perform random acts of
kindness.
Fasting to balance Chandra Fasting is a form of
Yagya. If you are strong and healthy, you can have a light fast on Monday,
nourishing yourself only on a broth of White rice (which corresponds to Chandra).
Other activities to balance Chandra Beware of over-emotionalizing, smothering, over-protecting, filtering what you perceive through your emotions. Pay regular respect to and do good deeds towards your mother (no matter how your relationship with her is).
Vedic Yagya Chanting or reciting mantras,
shlokas or stotras from the tradition of the Veda (pure knowledge) is what is
most commonly know as Yagya. People can do this by themselves and also hire
professional Vedic pundits to perform specific rituals (pujas and homas) to
pacify certain elements in their charts. |
