General Guidelines
- It is recommended that the mantra for Rahu should be recited total of 18000 times over a period of time, in order to gain the desired results.
- The minimum number of daily recitation is traditionally one cycle or 108 times (one mala). For Rahu it is recommended that you recite either 1 mala (108 times) 3 malas (324 times) or 18 malas (1944 times) in each daily session.
- The initial session should start night on a Saturday,
preferably when the Moon, or Rahu, are in Ardra, Swati or Satabisha.
- You can at any time increase the number of malas that you decide to chant, but the tradition warns not to decrease the number again after it has been increased once. So only increase when you know for sure that you will be able to proceed like that.
- The sounds of these mantras resonate with a fundamental layer of existence. You should play and listen carefully to the mantra and attempt to recite the mantras as close to correct pronounciation as possible.
- The stotra or mantra should be chanted with deep sincerity and with devotion to the core of all divinity.
